Sooooo proud are we!

It is 0719. The phone rings. I get up. I am half way down the stairs (not posh having phone in bedroom) and it stops ringing. The mobile rings upstairs. I dash upstairs and it stops ringing.
I decide to adorn myself in a dressing gown. I don't want to be reported for streaking - the neighbours you know. The mobile rings again and this time I answer it. The voice says "Goodmorning Grandma!" A gorgeous baby boy born at 0650 weighing in at an admirable 9lb 1oz (I work in imperial) mother rather sore and tired and dad ecstatic! "He's got feet and fingernails and everything!" the voice enthusiastically announces. " She was so good and I am so proud of her and ..... and everything!" "Oh how wonderful" I say. I can't focus - I can't find my specs having knocked them off the table onto the floor. I dare not move. I am paralysed with emotion and I may stand on my specs. And with that he's gone.

Wow.

It's been a funny old month. We are expectant grandparents - tomorrow all being well. I just can't get my head round it really. My youngest child about to become a mum? Well it just doesn't seem right somehow.

All is well in the greenhouse. I saved the tomatoes the little life saver I am and performed CPR on the peppers. The courgettes are a little late this year owing to the fact I forgot to sow them. So far on the allotment we have.....

I continue....

Broad Beans - Aqua Dulce - put in in the autumn
Potatoes - Arran Pilot, Kestrel, Pentland something

I'm trying my best here you know...

Carrots - Nantes extra early I think)
Beetroot - Detroit ....... something
